
Ecommerce Manager

This is a key hire within a growing retail business, focused on developing and scaling the online channel. The role sits at the centre of digital trading, working across marketing, systems and commercial teams to improve performance and deliver a strong customer experience online.
You’ll take full ownership of the website from a trading and performance perspective, with a clear remit to drive revenue growth, improve conversion and ensure campaigns translate effectively into online results. It’s a hands‑on role with real visibility across the business, suited to someone who enjoys both execution and commercial decision‑making.
Responsibilities
You’ll be responsible for the day‑to‑day performance of the online channel while also identifying and implementing improvements that drive growth. The role blends trading, marketing and optimisation, with a strong focus on using data to inform decisions and continuously improve results.
Key responsibilities will include:
Managing the website on a daily basis, ensuring products, pricing and promotions are accurate and commercially effective
Overseeing online merchandising, ensuring products are well positioned and aligned with trading priorities
Driving performance across paid digital channels, monitoring return and adjusting activity where needed
Analysing customer behaviour across the site to identify friction points and opportunities to improve conversion
Running tests across landing pages, product pages and checkout to improve performance
Working closely with marketing to execute campaigns online and ensure consistency across channels
Building and maintaining landing pages to support key campaigns and trading moments
Collaborating with internal teams to ensure stock availability and accurate product information online
Using data and reporting tools to track performance across traffic, conversion and revenue
Providing regular insights and recommendations to improve overall digital performance
Identifying opportunities to improve efficiency through tools, automation and better use of technology
Supporting ongoing enhancements to the eCommerce platform and user experience
Keeping a close eye on competitor activity and wider market trends within retail eCommerce
Managing multiple projects and priorities in a fast‑moving environment
Experience / Your Background
Proven experience managing an eCommerce or digital trading function within a retail environment
Strong understanding of how to drive online performance across traffic, conversion and revenue
Experience working with paid digital channels and performance marketing
Comfortable using data to guide decisions, with experience in tools such as Google Analytics or similar
Experience with eCommerce platforms such as Shopify, Magento or equivalent
Familiarity with testing, optimisation and improving the online customer journey
Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
Confident working cross‑functionally with marketing and technical teams
Commercial mindset with a focus on delivering measurable results
