Loan Assistant/Processor
MUST BE ABLE TO PASS BACKGROUND CHECK AND CREDIT SCREENING
Position Type: Full-Time
Reports To: Chief Risk Officer
Summary: The loan assistant/processor is required to assist the loan officers in loan closings and all aspects of the loan process. The lending assistants/processors maintain the bank's compliance requirements in regard to both loans and deposits. Lending assistants/processors also assist customers with loan questions.
Specific Job Functions:
Completes all required application disclosures.
Orders attorney title work, flood certifications, and appraisals
Assists in setting up loan closing.
Prepares loan closing documents. Sends documents to attorney's office or delivers them to the loan officer.
Uploads loans in a timely manner
Prepares files for recording and review by the loan operations area.
Prepares checks / wires for loan closings.
Prepares loan draws and handles loan payments
Works loan exceptions
Quotes loan payoffs for customers
Process denials when needed.
Assists customers with questions, maintenance requests, and research.
Comply with all Bank policy, procedures, governing laws, rules and regulations to include, but not limited, to BSA, CIP, OFAC, Fair Lending, TILA, and RESPA,
Completes all assigned training in a timely manner.
Other duties as assigned.
Must meet productivity standards and complete work in a timely manner.
Must communicate and interact well with First Peoples Bank associates, customers, other banks, and vendors. Be able to escalate issues as needed to supervisor for further assistance as needed.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 1 year of job-related experience.
Time management and organizational skills to effectively prioritize multiple objectives and achieve volume goals.
Proven problem-solving skills and the ability to work well under minimal supervision.
Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills required.
Must be proficient with Microsoft office programs such as Outlook, Word, and Excel.
Ability to work with all levels of management under pressure and strict deadlines.
A strong commitment to a team culture and positive attitude is required.
Good analytical and communication skills
Ability to multi-task and work under deadlines
Reliable attendance and positive attitude
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work:
This is a full-time position that operates in the Old Town Branch. Typical days and hours of work are Monday through Friday from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm.
Physical Demands and Equipment Used:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. This position requires the ability to sit at a desk for extended periods of time, reach, bend, walk or maneuver around the bank and occasionally lift up to 15 pounds. Must be able to efficiently operate a computer, fax machine, scanner, copier, printer, phone system, and other office equipment.
Travel:
No travel is expected for this position, with the exclusion of occasional training opportunities and/or staff meetings.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
