Seton Hall University seeks adjunct instructors to teach sections of our first-year writing classes. These are composition courses with an emphasis on rhetorical analysis.
They fall into two categories: English 1201 is a composition course with a rhetorical focus, stressing textual and visual analysis, while English 1202 is an academic writing course focused on literature. Candidates must have experience teaching composition in a college or university setting and, at minimum, an MA in a related field.
Duties and Responsibilities
Teach 1–2 classes a semester; classes meet 2–3 times a week.
Hold office hours and grade/review assignments.
Attend orientation and meetings with the first‑year writing director.
Required Qualifications
M.A. in a related field and experience teaching composition in a college or university setting.
Desired Qualifications
Ph.D. in a related field.
Salary Range
Minimum pay is $1,200 per credit for those without a terminal degree and $1,300 per credit for those with a terminal degree.
