JOB OVERVIEW
This individual will be working directly with ourSeniorStaffWritertoassistin the coverage of the Los Angeles Rams fortherams.com.Theywill attend press conferences, conduct interviews, andwritearticles to inform fans of the Rams’ on-fieldand off-fieldactivities.Theymay also help with long-term projects, sportsanalysisand historical researchfor the team.
This position is a 12-month internship
RESPONSIBILITIES
Writearticles based on transactions, team news, press conferences and interviews, as well as off-field stories.
Support coverage of marketing and othercross-functional departmentcampaigns as needed, including community initiatives.
Postcontent (articles, press releases, videos, transactions) to official websites using a content management system.
Collaborate and communicate withSeniorStaff Writer, digital mediateam, and Ramsin-house production teamin developing content calendar.
Conduct player/coach interviews,as requested.
Manage various tasks for home/away games, including weekends,holidaysand evenings.
Activelyparticipatein the monitoring of social media channelsto be aware of what fans are talking about andassistin coverage of breaking news.
Assistdigitalmediateam/in-house production teamduring daily practices, press conferences and events as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS
College degree in journalism or equivalent work experience.
Proficient, creative writer with background covering sports, preferably football.
Strong attention to detail, highlycollaborativeand creative.
Ability to work under multiple deadlines with multiple tasks.
Advancedworkingknowledge ofFacebook,X/Twitter, Instagram.
Must be able to work nights,weekendsand holidays.
General knowledge of football and the NFLisrequired.
Ability to display the utmost professionalism in multiple environments.
