The result of this combination gives us our motto: There is only success!Description of Position:Provides direct personal care, behavioral support, and supervision to Individuals Supported at the facility. Promotes the well-being and satisfaction of Individuals Supported through support with activities of daily living and implementation of individualized behavioral support plans. Communicates with other staff to ensure the needs of each Individual Supported are met.What the role entails:Assist with activities of daily living, including passing medication as assigned, following facility protocol, licensing regulations, and guidelines for both Individual Supported and employee safety.Follow safety guidelines in the facility, including proper lifting technique and universal precautions when providing care to Individuals Supported.Follow the schedule of duties for the Direct Support Professional, as well as the individual plan of care for each Individual Supported.Function as a team, assisting coworkers as the need arises. Monitor the activity, food intake, functional status, and psychosocial status of Individuals Supported, taking action as required to promote well-being.Report status changes immediately to the Direct Support Professional Lead or Administrator.Act immediately on any crisis involving an Individual Supported, following protocol, behavioral support plans, and basic first aid training.Implement and conduct daily activities with Individuals Supported.Set up, serve, and clean up meals for Individuals Supported.Promote open communication between health care professionals, families, Individuals Supported, and staff.Complete and maintain accurate documentation, including behavioral data collection, incident reports, and shift notes.Any other assignments made by the Direct Support Professional Lead, Administrator, or Executive Director.What We Require:Have six (6) months of prior experience providing direct care to individuals with developmental disabilities.Become a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) within twelve (12) months of initial employment.Core Qualities: A compassionate demeanor, exceptional patience, and the ability to build professional rapport.Team-Oriented Mindset: Strong interpersonal skills for effective collaboration within a diverse team.Reliable Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, ability to note behavioral progress via our electronic records systemCommitment to Standards: A professional attitude and appearance are consistently expected.Dependability: Demonstrates a high level of reliability through consistent attendance, punctuality, and the ability to follow complex behavioral plans without deviation. Must be an "anchor" for the team and the individuals served, ensuring continuity of care.Mandatory Requirements:Candidates must have the physical stamina and agility to perform safety interventions, which may include standing for long periods, bending, reaching, and implementing physical de-escalation techniques as trained in CPI to ensure a safe environment.High School Diploma, or equivalent, 21 years of age, and legally eligible to work in the U.S.Possession of (or immediate willingness to obtain): DSP 1 & 2 Certification, RBT Certification (preferred), Adult CPR/First Aid Certification, and CPI Non-Violent Crisis Intervention Certification.Ability to successfully obtain a fingerprint clearance from Community Care Licensing.Current health screening and TB test (or ability to obtain promptly).Valid State IDReports Directly To: Direct Support Professional Lead / Facility Administrator
