About the Opportunity
Our client, a leader in Autonomous Vehicle Technology, is looking for a skilled Mechanical Design Engineer - Sustaining Infotainment to join their team for a 6-month engagement. This project involves designing and launching the systems that integrate infotainment and interior sensing components onto their autonomous vehicle platform. This is a high-impact role that requires a self-motivated professional who can hit the ground running and deliver results quickly.
Key Responsibilities & Deliverables
Designing complex electromechanical assemblies while balancing requirements from multiple stakeholders (e.g., studio designers, product managers, optical engineers).
Managing design and development activities for multiple internal and external suppliers towards the successful delivery of systems.
Managing the design validation and production validation of integrated systems in automotive environments.
Collaborating with manufacturing engineers and quality personnel to ramp production processes and meet build objectives.
Maintaining Bills of Materials (BOMs), documenting and approving build processes, and supporting quality and cost engineering throughout the supply chain.
Required Skills & Experience
5+ years of industry experience, with a preference for automotive experience.
Deep expertise in 3D CAD design (Catia V5/V6 preferred) and experience designing electronic modules in an automotive context.
Demonstrated ability to uncover and solve packaging, structural, thermal, and reliability challenges.
Experience designing parts using processes such as die cast, injection molded, and sheet metal.
Experience building products and assemblies through their entire lifecycle, from initial concept to production ramp.
Experience managing engineering requirements and validation in an Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) system.
Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and manage your own time effectively to meet project goals.
Strong communication skills to provide clear and concise status updates to the project team.
W2 only (No C2C or 1099 contractors)
