Document Controller (Project/Engineering Support)
Lafayette, IN 100% Onsite $29 $35/hr BOE + Benefits PTO & Holiday Pay Monday Friday (40 hrs./week + overtime as needed)
Sirius Staffing is seeking a detail-oriented Document Controller to support project operations for a large manufacturing site. This role is responsible for managing and maintaining project documentation throughout the full lifecycleensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely distribution across teams.
The ideal candidate has experience with Electronic Document Management Systems (EDMS) and thrives in structured, fast-paced project environments such as engineering, construction, or manufacturing.
Key Responsibilities
Document Management & Control
Manage all project files, including technical documents, correspondence, approvals, and records
Establish and uphold document control standards, procedures, and metadata requirements
Verify documents are properly formatted, reviewed, approved, and stored according to project workflows
Document Registers & Tracking
Develop, maintain, and update document registers to track document status, revisions, and approvals
Monitor submission deadlines and ensure timely delivery of project deliverables
Maintain traceability and accuracy across all project documentation
EDMS Administration
Use and support Electronic Document Management Systems (EDMS) for document distribution, version control, and archival
Troubleshoot common issues and support project teams in navigating EDMS tools and workflows
Recommend improvements to document management processes and tools
Deliverable Packaging & Assembly
Assist project teams with assembling engineering, procurement, and construction packages
Prepare transmittals, compilations, and deliverable sets based on project requirements
Coordinate signature workflows, including routing, tracking, and ensuring timely completion of approvals
Quality & Compliance
Perform quality checks on documents to ensure accuracy, completeness, and adherence to templates and standards
Implement document control best practices to support audit readiness and contractual regulatory requirements
Maintain consistent naming conventions, folder structures, and indexing across all project files
Qualifications
Bachelors degree preferred, or
High School Diploma (or equivalent) with at least 2 or more years of solid document control or project administration experience in a manufacturing setting
Understanding of project documentation processes within engineering, construction, manufacturing, or similar environments
Experience working within an EDMS platform (e.g., Aconex, SharePoint, Documentum, Procore, ProjectWise)
Strong organizational and time-management skills with attention to detail
Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Strong communication and collaboration skills
Familiarity with engineering and construction documentation terminology (preferred)
