Pay Range: $40 - $47/hour. Traveler benefits as per agency package. (Benefits vary by vendor and assignment.)
Key Responsibilities:
Manage multi-state payroll tax filings (monthly, quarterly, annual)
Ensure accurate and timely tax remittances and reporting
Maintain and audit Workday payroll tax configurations
Perform QTD/YTD payroll tax reconciliations
Partner with Accounting to resolve G/L discrepancies
Validate tax data accuracy across systems
Research and resolve federal & state tax notices
Support internal/external audits and year-end tax processes
Vendor & Stakeholder Collaboration
Work with Alight / Strada or similar payroll vendors
Partner with Payroll, HRIT, and Accounting teams
Identify and implement process improvements & automation
Ensure system integrity through regular audits
Key Requirements and Technology Experience:
35+ years of payroll tax experience (multi-state required)
Hands-on experience with Workday Payroll (must-have)
Strong experience in tax filings, reconciliation, and compliance
Experience handling tax notices and audits
Advanced Excel skills (data analysis & reconciliation)
Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environmen
Experience with Alight, Strada, or other payroll vendors
Exposure to process improvement / automation initiatives
Large enterprise payroll environment experience
