Senior Design Technician (HVAC / Mechanical)
Position Overview
We are seeking a Senior HVAC Design Technician who can step in and contribute immediately within a fast-paced, collaborative engineering environment. In this role, you will work alongside multidisciplinary design and engineering teams to support the development of complex industrial HVAC and Process Exhaust systems for advanced technology and manufacturing facilities.
This position is ideal for an experienced designer who thrives in technically challenging environments and can operate with a high degree of independence, technical judgment, and initiative.
Key Responsibilities
Lead design, layout, and routing of industrial building mechanical systems
Develop P&IDs, plans, sections, and detailed construction drawings
Execute design tasks across planning, conceptual, and detailed design phases
Coordinate directly with clients, contractors, and internal engineering disciplines
Apply advanced knowledge of building mechanical systems and applicable codes to ensure design quality and accuracy
Support multidisciplinary project teams to deliver coordinated design solutions
Basic Qualifications
High school diploma or GED required
8+ years of AutoCAD design experience
4+ years of Revit design experience
5+ years of industrial building mechanical design experience
Strong working knowledge of U.S. Mechanical Codes, specifically the International Mechanical Code (IMC)
Demonstrated ability to independently execute design packages with minimal supervision
Preferred Qualifications
Experience supporting complex industrial environments such as:
Semiconductor manufacturing
Cleanrooms
Data centers
Advanced manufacturing facilities
Technical or Associate's degree in a related discipline
Proven ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Advanced problem-solving, planning, and analytical abilities
