Clayton Services is searching for a Business Development Manager – Water Transmission Valves to join a thriving company in Stafford, Texas. The Business Development Manager will be responsible for driving sales growth, developing new business opportunities, and expanding market presence within the water transmission and wastewater industries.
Job Type: Direct Hire
Pay Rate: $130,000 - $160,000/year plus annual bonus opportunities

Business Development Manager Responsibilities:
Identify, prospect, and develop new business opportunities within the water transmission, wastewater, and sewage markets
Build and maintain strong relationships with municipal clients, contractors, and engineering firms
Promote and expand adoption of water valve product lines including gate, globe, check, and butterfly valves
Drive market penetration for newly developed water technologies and product offerings
Support product approvals and specifications with governing bodies and industry standards organizations
Collaborate with internal teams to support customer inquiries, quotations, and order fulfillment
Conduct regular customer visits and travel throughout North America (U.S. and Canada) to grow territory
Provide technical guidance and product recommendations based on project requirements
Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and industry developments to identify growth opportunities
Participate in trade shows, client meetings, and industry events to increase brand visibility
Business Development Manager Skills and Abilities:
Strong outside sales experience within water transmission, wastewater, or related infrastructure industries
Knowledge of valve applications and systems used in municipal or industrial water environments
Familiarity with AWWA and NSF standards is highly preferred
Ability to develop new markets and build business from the ground up
Strong relationship-building and communication skills
Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and manage a territory
Ability to travel as needed across North America
Business Development Manager Education and Experience:
Minimum of 5+ years of outside sales experience in water, wastewater, or industrial valve markets
Experience selling engineered products or industrial equipment preferred
Proven track record of business development and revenue growth
Bachelor's degree preferred but not required with relevant experience
