Associate Design Engineer
Focuses exclusively on products for infants and toddlers such as car seats, strollers, swings, and highchairs. The principal objective is to create consumer-oriented products through excellent engineering and styling that are safe, cost-effective, and create demand in the market.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Product Design & Development

Performs the necessary functions to develop somewhat complex concepts through design, engineering, testing, and documentation supporting the full process from initial idea to manufacturable product.

Effectively uses 3D CAD software to create part and assembly files.

Develops basic project timelines and manages activities to complete assigned tasks in a timely manner.

Analysis & Validation

Performs engineering analysis and evaluations of designs, prototypes, or products in the areas of safety, robustness, structural integrity, functionality, aesthetics, manufacturability, cost, and marketability as appropriate.

Assists manufacturer with input and evaluations on new product startups and other manufacturing-related issues.

Provides general assistance in other areas as needed to help the company operate successfully.

REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS
Experience

Recent graduate between one (1) to three (3) years of relevant design engineering experience.

Working knowledge of product development processes from concept through manufacturing.

Demonstrated ability to develop a concept into a manufacturable product.

Comfortable with a mix of product design and model shop work.

Skills & Knowledge

Working knowledge of basic engineering analysis methods related to product safety, structural integrity, and manufacturability.

Good hands‑on knowledge of materials and manufacturing processes.

Strong mechanical aptitude.

Good sense of aesthetics and the ability to communicate via sketches.

Education

Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Bachelor’s Degree Industrial Design or equivalent.

Proficiency with

SolidWorks (solid modeling, detailing, assembly and analysis)

Model shop tools (hand, power, and light machine tools)

Familiar with

FEA software such as COSMOS Works FEA is a plus.

Corporate expense Management software, Bill Spend preferred.

Payroll systems, Paycom preferred.

Other

Ability to lift 50 lbs. unassisted.

Possess a current driver’s license.

Domestic & International Travel (less than 10%) as business needs warrant.

Ability to work extended hours as business needs warrant; may on occasion include evenings and weekends.

Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full‑time basis.
