Associate Project Manager, Design & Construction

Blue Rock Search has partnered with an established and expanding global restaurant franchisor to identify their next Associate Project Manager, Design & Construction. This position supports the interior design and development of franchise restaurant locations from concept through completion. The Associate PM is involved in coordinating design, construction, and furnishing efforts while helping ensure each project stays on schedule, within budget, and aligned with brand standards. The role also involves working closely with franchisees, vendors, and internal teams to deliver high-quality restaurant builds and remodels.

Key Responsibilities

Oversee the planning and execution of restaurant construction and renovation projects from start to finish

Maintain project timelines and provide regular progress updates to leadership

Partner with franchisees and stakeholders to guide them through design and construction phases

Support new store growth by helping franchisees successfully open locations on time and to brand standards

Manage both new builds and remodels, including post-construction follow-up

Ensure all locations meet brand guidelines and quality expectations

Coordinate ordering, delivery, and installation of furniture, fixtures, and equipment (FF&E)

Work with suppliers and vendors to keep installation schedules on track

Conduct or support site visits to monitor progress and maintain quality standards

Address construction challenges as they arise and proactively identify potential risks

Help streamline development timelines by identifying process improvements

Track and manage FF&E-related costs to support budgeting efforts

Review final project documentation to confirm compliance with brand requirements

Ensure both front-of-house and back-of-house designs align with brand standards

Assist with store layout and design development based on established guidelines

Prepare drawings and visual materials using tools such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, Enscape, and Adobe Creative Suite

What We’re Looking For

Solid knowledge of construction methods, materials, and detailing

Strong communication and relationship-building skills

A proactive mindset with the ability to problem-solve and adapt quickly

Comfortable using tools like Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Interior Design, Construction Management, or a related field

At least 3 years of experience in construction project management, preferably within the food and beverage industry

Experience working with franchise brands is a plus

Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects at once

Proven leadership, decision-making, and problem-solving abilities

Familiarity with project management tools, construction best practices, and relevant codes/regulations

Willingness to travel nationwide for site visits and project coordination
