Summary Of Position
The Business Development Manager is responsible for driving net-new revenue growth by identifying, pursuing, and closing new business opportunities with banks and treasury departments, whether through new logo acquisition or new departments within existing customers. This is a quota-carrying, hunter-focused sales role centered on prospecting, pipeline creation and winning new customer relationships.
The ideal candidate is a highly motivated, results-driven self-starter who thrives in a remote environment and is comfortable traveling frequently within the U.S. This role requires ownership of the full sales cycle, from initial outreach through close, while collaborating with internal sales teams, cross‑functional departments, manufacturers, vendors and industry partners to deliver compelling solutions to new prospects.
Principal Duties And Responsibilities
Own and execute a new business acquisition strategy aligned with company growth objectives
Identify, qualify and pursue net-new banking and treasury prospects, building relationships with key decision-makers
Generate pipeline through outbound prospecting, including cold calling, networking, referrals and industry events
Conduct market and competitive research to uncover new opportunities, whitespace accounts, emerging trends and competitive advantages
Lead sales cycles for new accounts, from discovery and solution alignment through negotiation and close
Prepare and deliver compelling sales presentations and proposals tailored to prospective needs
Collaborate with internal teams (sales, managed services, marketing and leadership) to develop winning solutions for new clients
Evaluate RFP/RFI opportunities and lead response strategy with a focus on new customer acquisition
Accurately track pipeline, activities and performance metrics in CRM (Monday.com)
Participate in pipeline and forecast reviews, clearly articulating progress of sales cycles
Knowledge, Skills And Abilities Required
Bachelor's degree in business, finance, marketing, or related field
10 years of proven experience in the financial industry
Knowledge of banking technology products, services, software and regulations
Strong sales and negotiation skills with a track record of achieving targets
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build and maintain professional relationships
Ability to analyze market trends and develop effective sales strategies
Proficient in MS Office
Customer Base
Primarily focused on banks and treasury departments in the U.S.
All Benchmark customers and prospects are included in the customer base
Target customers not limited to existing customers and prospects
Working Conditions/Physical Requirements Of The Job
Ability to travel up to 30% of your time
Ability to sit at a computer terminal for an extended period
