Lockheed Martin is seeking a Strategic Operations Research Analyst to join the Dynamic, High‑Performing Operations Analysis team. The role involves using systematic, science‑based techniques, analytical methods, simulation, and critical thinking to inform and improve decision‑making processes. The analyst will collaborate frequently with team members and engineers from other disciplines, supporting requirements definitions, concept of operations (CONOPS) evaluation, and operational effectiveness studies to influence future warfighter capabilities.
Responsibilities
Participate in analysis and study plans based on critical questions/problem statements
Apply engineering‑based techniques, problem‑solving methods, and critical thinking
Research and learn military systems, operations, and tactics
Model, simulate, and analyze military systems and scenarios in digital environments
Analyze simulation results using data analytics to draw meaningful conclusions
Participate in trade studies and perform statistical analysis
Engage in research efforts and learn analytical techniques and research methodologies
Apply decision analysis methods to evaluate current and future programs
Location
This position is based in Dallas, Texas.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in a STEM discipline from an accredited college/university
Eligible for a DoD secret clearance
Scripting and data processing experience (MATLAB, Python, or similar)
Problem‑solving skills with an eagerness to learn
Must be a U.S. citizen (required for special access to the facility)
Must obtain and maintain top‑secret clearance upon employment
Desired Skills
Active DoD secret clearance
Experience in Operations Research (OR) or computer‑based analytical tools
Modeling and simulation experience
Software development experience (C++, Git) and familiarity with Linux OS
Knowledge of data analytics, data science, and data visualization
Basic understanding of statistical concepts such as hypothesis testing and regression analysis
Advanced degree in a STEM discipline from an accredited college/university
Security Clearance & Requirements
This position requires a government security clearance. Applicants must be U.S. citizens, and the role requires obtaining a top‑secret clearance and an enhanced security review in accordance with government contract requirements.
