
Circuit Design Engineer III, Avionics

Position Summary
Avionics Circuit Design Engineer – Sunnyvale, CA (Onsite, 9x80 schedule).
Join Lockheed Martin Space as an Avionics Circuit Design Engineer, working on the development, integration, and production of state‑of‑the‑art avionics electronics in a world‑class Integrated Product Development environment.
Key Activities
Design and build circuitry for the electronics product.
Collaborate with Printed Wiring Board, Guidance, Navigation & Control, FPGA, and Special Test Equipment teams to construct and checkout hardware.
Design and prepare checkout and test procedures to bring hardware to Acceptance and Qualification, ensuring it meets customer requirements and is ready for flight.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor of Science or higher from an accredited college in Electrical Engineering or related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education.
Experience with design of digital or analog circuits.
Experience performing electronics analysis (Worst Case Analysis; Electrical Parts Stress Analysis; Failure Modes and Effects Critical Analysis).
3+ years of professional experience.
US Citizenship (required for DoD Secret clearance).
Desired Skills
Experience on Space and/or Missile Defense missions.
Experience in electronic systems schematic creation and interpretation, and in Electronics Modeling/Simulation Software such as SPICE.
Experience in schematic capture using Zuken or similar software.
Experience with PSPICE, Saber, or other electronics simulation software.
Strong communication and presentation skills; ability to articulate complex technical issues to peers, stakeholders, subcontractors and customers.
Ability to work in a dynamic, collaborative team environment and shape consensus among peers.
Strong problem‑solving, conflict resolution, and self‑initiative skills.
Team‑player orientation and adaptability to new situations.
Security Clearance
This position requires obtaining and maintaining a DoD Secret clearance. US Citizenship is required.
