
Business Development Specialist, Biologics Analytical Services

Position Summary
We are seeking a motivated and driven individual to join our team as a Business Development Specialist. Biologics Analytical Services supports analytical services for biopharma clients from late discovery developability through commercial release of therapeutics. As a key member of our Biologics Analytical Services team, you will be responsible for developing regional markets and early relationships with Emergent Biopharma to secure new opportunities, building our credibility and trust with potential customers, collaborating with colleagues to develop sales enablement collateral and tools, and supporting account directors to progress opportunities.
The Role
Develop the brand for Biologics Analytical Services and Catalent to build credibility and trust within regional markets by attending regional networking events, presenting at regional events, and developing relationships with Emerging Biopharma companies.
Convert efforts into new clients and opportunities within the designated territory through proactive tactics targeting multiple potential decision-makers and influencers within biopharma companies.
Build and maintain strong relationships with potential customers by demonstrating exceptional customer service, strong technical expertise, and showcasing the value of our services.
Collaborate with account directors to transfer opportunities seamlessly and ensure a smooth sales process to support client projects and meet client goals.
Set up in‑person meetings with potential clients and work with Account Directors & Subject Matter Experts to present product/service offerings and address any queries or concerns.
Handle coordination of initial technical calls with subject matter experts and Account Directors to obtain all necessary information for scoping.
Utilize the CRM (Customer Relationship Management) system to track and manage customer interactions, update contact information, and monitor progress on leads and opportunities.
Perform other duties as assigned.
The Candidate
Previous experience as a Technical Field Scientist, in CMC/GMP analytical development, and sales of CRO/CMO testing, combined with a scientific degree or strong scientific acumen, is preferred.
Ability to independently convert goals into structured and prioritized tasks for the proactive development of an assigned regional territory.
Self‑motivated and target‑driven mindset to continuously learn scientific offerings and exceed sales goals in a high‑growth environment.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and establish trust with potential clients.
Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time to meet with clients and attend industry events.
Pay
The annual pay range for this position in New Jersey is $76,000 - $110,000. The final salary offered to a successful candidate may vary and will depend on factors such as experience, skillset, education, and business needs. Catalent is a multi‑state employer, and this salary range may not reflect positions that work in other states.
