At McLane, data powers every decision—from demand planning to last‑mile delivery. As Manager, Data Engineering & Analytics, you’ll lead the teams and platforms that transform complex supply‑chain data into trusted, AI‑ready products used across the enterprise. This role blends people leadership, modern cloud data architecture, and real‑world operational impact at scale. The role oversees teams of analysts and developers who work across multiple analytics platforms — including Microsoft Fabric, Power BI, IBM Cognos, Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Looker Core, Tableau, and Alteryx.

This is a hybrid position which will require the candidate to report and work from the office at least three days a week. Therefore, interested candidates should be within a 50-minute radius from Temple, TX.

What You’ll Do

Lead, coach, and develop a high‑performing data engineering organization, fostering accountability, inclusion, and continuous improvement

Own the architecture and roadmap for enterprise cloud data platforms (Lakehouse, data warehouse, streaming)

Deliver scalable, domain‑oriented data products with clear ownership, SLAs, and measurable business value

Develop and maintain high quality dashboards, reports, and interactive visualizations using Power BI, Looker, Tableau, and Cognos, including BI + AI capabilities.

Enable analytics, BI, AI/ML, and GenAI use cases across planning, inventory, logistics, manufacturing, procurement, and fulfillment

Integrate complex enterprise data sources including ERP, WMS, TMS, OMS, EDI, IoT, and partner feeds

Partner with Analytics and Data Science teams on feature pipelines, experimentation, and production inference

Drive data governance, quality, security, privacy, and compliance (SOX, GDPR/CCPA)

Own reliability, observability, incident management, and run‑the‑business operations

Apply FinOps discipline to optimize platform cost, performance, and scalability

What We’re Looking For

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field

5+ years of data engineering and analytics experience and 3+ years leading engineers or enterprise‑scale technical programs

Proven delivery of cloud data platforms supporting analytics and operational workloads

Strong hands‑on expertise with SQL and Python or Scala, plus CI/CD and infrastructure‑as‑code

Experience with modern data technologies (GCP, Fabric, Databricks, Snowflake, Synapse, dbt, Airflow/ADF, Kafka, Delta/Parquet/Iceberg)

Extensive proficiency in LookML and Looker Core for building semantic models and transforming data.

Demonstrated experience with data governance, lineage, security, and quality frameworks

Practical supply‑chain domain fluency across multiple areas (planning, inventory, logistics, manufacturing, procurement)

Familiarity with MDM, semantic layers, governed BI, and ML/GenAI enablement

This position requires the ability to read, write, and understand English at a level sufficient to perform job-related tasks effectively and safely. This includes understanding work instructions, safety protocols, and communications essential to the role. The requirement is directly related to the nature of the job and ensures compliance with workplace safety and operational standards.
