Cushnoc Group is a boutique advisory firm specializing in providing outsourced finance and accounting services to privately held companies in the lower middle market, including the portfolio companies of institutional sponsors.
POSITION OVERVIEW:
The position will be responsible for executing client work by serving as an outsourced finance and accounting resource for growth-stage companies in a variety of industries. It is anticipated that the position will be assigned to handle multiple client engagements simultaneously.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategy, Vision and Leadership
Contribute to the development of the Cushnoc Group’s strategic goals and objectives by efficiently and professionally serving as functional lead on client engagements
Supervise junior employees and consultants who may be assigned to work on client engagements
Actively participate in the life of the firm including providing assistance with firm recruiting efforts
Maintain continuous lines of communication, keeping the managing director informed of all critical issues
Represent the organization externally with strategic partners
Promote a culture of high performance and continuous improvement that values learning and a commitment to quality
Mentor and develop staff using a supportive and collaborative approach: assign accountabilities; set objectives; establish priorities; and monitor and evaluate results
Representative Responsibilities Under Client Engagements
Provide leadership in the development for the continuous evaluation of short and long-term strategic financial objectives of clients
Ensure credibility of client’s finance function by providing timely and accurate analysis of budgets, financial trends and forecasts
Direct and oversee those aspects of the finance and accounting functions of the client organization as is defined in the scope of work agreed to by each client
Evaluate and advise on the impact of long-range planning, introduction of new programs/ strategies and regulatory action
Establish and maintain strong relationships with client’s senior executives so as to identify their needs and seek full range of business solutions
Provide clients with advice on the financial implications of business activities
Manage processes for financial forecasting, budgets and consolidation and reporting to the client board of directors
Provide recommendations to strategically enhance financial performance and business opportunities
Ensure that effective internal controls are in place and ensure compliance with GAAP and applicable federal, state and local regulatory laws and rules for financial and tax reporting
QUALIFICATIONS
BS in Accounting or Finance, MBA and/or CPA highly desirable
Minimum 10 years in progressively responsible financial leadership roles, preferably in high growth companies
Proven track record of success facilitating progressive organizational change and development within a growing organization
Excellent judgment and creative problem-solving skills including negotiation and conflict resolution skills
Strong mentoring, coaching experience to a team with diverse levels of expertise
Entrepreneurial team player who can multitask
