CMM Quality Technician II

Position Overview

Ascentec Engineering LLC is hiring a CMM Quality Technician. The role requires strong attention to detail and offers a chance to grow your career. This critical position ensures final product quality. Preference will be given to candidates with manufacturing experience, but it is not required.
Location & Work Status

This role is onsite only. Not remote or hybrid. No visa sponsorship or transfer eligible.
Job Responsibilities

Operate Zeiss/Calypso CMM and run preexisting programs.
Serve as QA technician and final inspector for precision CNC machined parts.
Primary operator for the dedicated metrology equipment – CMM, Optical comparator, etc.
Key contributor to the Quality Management System (AS9100).
Manage QA data within the Quality Tracking Database Software – Unipoint.
Verify non‑conformance of parts using alternate CMM or manual inspection methods, checking flatness, perpendicularity, parallelism, etc.
Qualifications

Extremely detail oriented; focused on maintaining consistent quality standards.
Ability to read, understand, and interpret internal and customer‑provided mechanical prints including GD&T.
Strong communication skills and ability to work as a team member when parts/assemblies are determined to be out of tolerance during final inspection.
Experience with a wide variety of metrology equipment including CMM, Optical comparator, calipers, micrometers, height gauges, bore gauges, etc.
Experience with manual and/or automated CMM preferred, including formatting of CMM reports.
Experience working within an AS 9100 registered organization is preferred.
Willingness to work overtime and weekend shifts as needed.
Preference for candidates with prior CNC machinist experience.
CQI or CQT preferred.
Working knowledge of Zeiss CMMs with Calypso software.

Compensation and Benefits

$24 to $35 per hour DOE and shift.
