ABOUT THIS ROLE
The Legal Assistant (LA) plays a vital role in ensuring the efficiency and consistency of case progress across the firm. While the Legal Assistant does not provide legal advice, make strategic case decisions, or authorize Firm expenses, they are responsible for monitoring case flow, identifying delays or deviations from Firm-established benchmarks, and working closely with attorneys, paralegals, and case managers to keep matters on track. This is a highly collaborative, detail-oriented role ideal for a proactive individual who excels at managing systems and driving accountability.

Has a strong background in law firm operations, legal support, or litigation coordination
Understands how to monitor deadlines, enforce workflows, and track case progress without setting strategy or offering legal advice
Communicates clearly and professionally with attorneys, paralegals, and administrative staff
Is confident holding team members accountable to timelines and expectations
Can identify bottlenecks in case progress and recommend solutions early
Is experienced in managing multiple priorities and juggling competing tasks
Brings strong time management skills and comfort with project/case tracking tools
Is committed to client service and helping the legal team maintain momentum on each case
Values collaboration and has a team-first mindset
Has a keen eye for process improvement and consistently follows up to ensure quality and completion
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant experience in legal administration, project management, or paralegal services
3+ years’ experience working in a law firm or professional services environment
Familiarity with legal workflows, calendaring, litigation lifecycle, and task management tools
Experience reviewing work product for quality and timeliness
Excellent communication skills—both written and verbal—with ability to liaise confidently with attorneys, staff, and clients
Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail and a proactive mindset
Strong time management and prioritization skills; ability to track multiple cases and deadlines simultaneously
Professional, calm, and collaborative under pressure
Comfortable using case management systems and productivity tools
Ability to follow up with others and "manage up" to keep the team on track
Experience in coordinating case reviews, client status updates, and team reporting a plus
Must be comfortable holding others accountable to deadlines and workflow expectations
BENEFITS
Salary of $25-$30 per hour
Hours: Monday through Friday 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM (40 hours per week)
