As a Staff Accountant you will play a vital role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial records. Your responsibilities will include maintaining the general ledger and assisting with the production of monthly financial statements.
Responsibilities
Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting principles and company policies
Journal entries including accruals and prepayments
Assist in the preparation and production of accurate monthly financial statements for a portfolio of properties
Variance analysis
Work closely with Property Management to monitor tenant accounts and respond to enquiries
Assist in annual budget process
Support Asset Management and Acquisitions groups with financial analysis
Work closely with other departments, including Asset Management and Acquisition groups, to support their accounting needs and provide financial insights as required
Special projects as needed
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
1-2 years of progressive accounting experience
Solid grasp of accounting principles, general ledger, and financial reporting
Systems savvy including solid Excel skills
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
