Position
10675 Enterprise Corporate - People & Culture Teammate Safety (Full time, Hybrid, 40 hrs weekly, travel up to 50%)

Pay Range: $44.15 - $66.25 per hour. Benefits eligible: Yes.

Overview
Serves as technical resource in the evaluation, planning, and implementation of Enterprise‑wide teammate health and safety processes at assigned facilities.

Responsible for oversight of project implementations geared towards continuous improvement of workers' compensation losses and workforce safety. Supports redesign of workflows that impact high reliability, teammate safety and regulatory compliance. Works closely with executive leadership, directors, managers and frontline teammates to reduce workplace hazards and mitigate risk. Collaborates with other stakeholders to promote zero harm fundamentals across the enterprise. Drives performance improvement in teammate injury prevention across assigned locations in the Wake and Charlotte, NC region.

Major Responsibilities

Assist with the development, documentation, and program direction for supporting functions within Teammate Health and Safety.

Coordinate development of standardized program tools and implement effective risk assessment and hazard analysis programs.

Assist with development of health and safety policies and procedures at corporate, facility and department levels.

Develop and track implementation of injury prevention countermeasures.

Develop and maintain strong working relationships within the Advocate Health Enterprise and with professional organizations and other healthcare organizations, municipal services, and regulatory authorities.

Serve as a reporting member of facility‑level safety‑related committees as assigned.

Implement and oversee special projects.

Develop and deliver health and safety presentations.

Provide professional high‑quality business consultancy across operational processes.

Investigate injuries and near‑miss occurrences to determine policy or procedural changes.

Communicate and present regularly to site executive teams on serious safety events and status of the site safety program.

Assist leaders in driving the implementation of program improvements and pillar initiatives and provide support for ongoing maintenance and sustainability.

Research best practices, policies and procedures to manage cross‑functional programs; provide quality and opportunity improvements.

Define key performance indicators and metrics, monitor metrics and reporting, and communicate status to leadership.

Review safety events entered daily into the reporting system to identify trends and actionable items.

Assist sites, departments, and individuals with data requirements and program support.

Identify and communicate educational needs to ensure program compliance and operational efficiencies.

Education Required
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent knowledge in Occupational Health and Safety, Public Health, Industrial Hygiene, Industrial Technology or a health‑related field.

Experience Required
Typically requires 5 years of experience in a related discipline.

Licensure and Certification Required
None required.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Advanced knowledge of state and federal regulations, handicapped discrimination laws and hospital/clinic accreditation requirements.

Advanced knowledge of current occupational health and safety best practices.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively at all levels.

Ability to work in a complex corporate environment.

Ability to build teamwork and trust in safety programs.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Awareness of key topics in workforce health and safety.

Demonstrated problem‑solving and analytical skills.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions

Work in an office and hospital environment, sitting, standing and walking.

Travel required; may involve exposure to road and weather hazards.

Possibly spend time in a healthcare facility or support services setting.

Carry up to 15 pounds; ability to climb ladders and stairs.

Work safely and maintain safe practices.

Preferred Requirements
Education

Master’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Public Health, Industrial Hygiene, Industrial Technology or a health‑related field.

Advanced training in teammate safety or equivalent.

Certification / License

Professional licensure or certification such as PE, AIA, CSP or CIH.

Experience

3 years in healthcare‑related field and experience in employee or occupational health and safety.

Comfortable speaking to large and small groups.

Experience with data analytics.
