Accounting Associate
Domu, San Francisco, CA, United States
Domu.ai is building agentic infrastructure to support large financial institutions across the globe.
Responsibilities
Own the full accounting cycle and financial infrastructure: build the company’s accounting engine from the ground up on QuickBooks Online, managing everything from AR/AP to multi‑entity intercompany reconciliations.
Drive real‑time burn visibility: unlike traditional roles, close books almost daily to provide leadership with near‑real‑time data on cash position and burn.
Scale the Accounts Receivable engine: dynamically calculate and automate the invoicing lifecycle based on client usage and contract terms, ensuring a scalable, auto‑generated “cash collection machine”.
Navigate international complexity: manage transactions, eliminations, and local compliance across subsidiaries in Colombia, Brazil, and Mexico, ensuring audit‑ready consolidation.
Sit at the intersection of Finance and AI: build automated reporting dashboards and use AI tools to eliminate repetitive tasks and manual errors.
Qualifications
1–3 years of professional accounting experience, ideally with a Big Four or top‑tier accounting firm.
Solid US GAAP knowledge: understand the “why” behind the numbers and apply high‑level standards to a high‑growth environment.
AI orientation: genuine passion for and demonstrated use of AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Claude) to automate workflows and productivity.
Multi‑entity expertise: experience or strong knowledge of intercompany accounting and consolidation across different jurisdictions.
System‑building mindset: excited by greenfield setups and the challenge of building financial infrastructure from scratch.
Desired Additional Skills
LATAM familiarity: experience with accounting environments or local compliance in Colombia, Brazil, or Mexico.
Fintech & modern tools: hands‑on experience with Brex, Ramp, or similar corporate card platforms and high‑growth fintech tools.
FP&A potential: ability to assist in building financial models for budgeting, forecasting, and tracking metrics like CAC and gross margin.
ERP exposure: familiarity with NetSuite, SAP, or Oracle to help guide our eventual migration.
Ideal Archetypes
AI‑native accountant: a Big Four alum who uses Claude and low‑code tools to automate work and prefers the speed of a startup.
The global operator: an accountant with multi‑entity experience who enjoys the complexity of international subsidiaries and transfer pricing.
The growth‑minded controller: a detail‑oriented professional who sees accounting as a strategic lever for fundraising and company‑wide decision‑making.
