Office of the Registrar
The Office of the Registrar, Registration & Compliance [Military Outreach Center], the primary responsibility of the Military Outreach Coordinator position is to assist in the overall development and enhancement of university military/veteran friendly policies and procedures for veterans, active‑duty service members, dependents, and survivors.
The coordinator will coordinate the day‑to‑day operations of the main Military Outreach Center as well as 5 other campus locations, assist in the transition process of veterans to an academic setting while connecting them with appropriate departments and resources on each of the campuses.
The Military Outreach Coordinator will have demonstrated leadership, management and communication (written and oral) skills. He/she will have a working knowledge of the educational, social, and physical challenges facing active military, veterans, and their families. The coordinator will analyze and determine special personal needs (such as post‑traumatic stress disorder, traumatic brain injury, substance abuse, etc.) and family needs to support appropriate referrals.

Responsibilities
Coordinate services of the main Military Outreach Center on a day‑to‑day basis and coordinate activities at 5 other campuses, performing administrative duties as required with the military student advocates.
Assist the military student advocates with escalated issues.
Analyze and determine special personal needs and family needs to support appropriate referrals for military learners.
Work with military students and veterans to identify appropriate academic and cocurricular needs.
Implement initiatives with the Director and other campus offices.
Coordinate and participate in “special projects” college‑wide on various campuses.
Coordinate and enable VA Work‑Study workers on all perimeter campuses as directed by the Military Outreach Center Director.
Assist in monitoring the MOC departmental budget, MOC Foundation budget, MOC Scholarship fund and grant budgets and perform other administrative functions.
Cross‑train to assist in other student service roles for military learners and veterans as back‑up for a department and supplement resources during times of the year.
Qualifications
Minimum Hiring Qualifications:
A bachelor’s degree and two years of related experience or a combination of education and experience.
Preferred Hiring Qualifications:
Preference for military veteran candidates with experience in a higher education setting.
Working knowledge of the educational, social, and physical challenges facing active military learners.
Working knowledge of integrated student record data systems, such as Banner.
Collaborative, energetic and resourceful work style.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
Ability to multi‑task, pay attention to detail and express excellent customer service skills.
Self‑starter and quick learner with continual desire to learn.
Proficient understanding of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).
Experience in an enrollment services environment or unit (ex. academic records, admissions, financial aid, registrar, student accounts).
Additional Information
Salary offers will be determined based on the candidate’s qualifications in relation to the Minimum Hiring Standards. Candidates earlier in their careers are typically offered salaries closer to the minimum of the hiring range; those with more advanced or relevant experience may be considered for compensation at or above the hiring range.
