Position Summary
Harvest Hill’s Sunny Delight Beverage Company is seeking a highly skilled Electrical, Instrumentation, and Controls (EIC) Technician to join our team in Sherman, TX. This role requires advanced technical expertise, strong leadership capabilities, and the ability to work independently with minimal direction. The EIC Technician will support, maintain, and troubleshoot plant electrical, instrumentation, and control systems while ensuring safe and efficient operation of production equipment. Candidates must be flexible and able to work any shift as part of a rotating schedule.
Key Responsibilities
Maintain and troubleshoot plant electrical distribution panels
Install, maintain, and troubleshoot electrical systems ranging from 480VAC to 24VDC, including Motor Control Centers
Diagnose and repair process and packaging equipment (fillers, conveyors, drives, packers, palletizers, etc.)
Troubleshoot and repair PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, servo drives, and related systems
Install, calibrate, inspect, and troubleshoot instrumentation equipment
Troubleshoot PLC and HMI programming (including Wonderware and similar systems)
Install new equipment and implement engineering changes
Conduct root cause analysis using manuals and technical documentation
Maintain, modify, and improve EIC systems, documentation, and processes
Provide technical leadership and support to plant teams
Train and mentor EIC technicians and plant personnel
Operate production and packaging systems as needed
Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and food safety standards
Perform additional duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent
Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
Minimum of 2 years of experience in an electrical and instrumentation role
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
Preferred Qualifications
Formal EI&C training (trade school, military, or industrial certification) or equivalent experience
Experience in food & beverage or packaging industries
Knowledge of power distribution systems up to 480VAC and National Electrical Code (NEC)
Ability to read and interpret electrical and control schematics
Experience integrating electrical, mechanical, and instrumentation troubleshooting
Familiarity with PLC systems (PLC-5, CompactLogix, MicroLogix, ControlLogix), Studio 5000, Logix Designer, RSLinx
Experience with industrial communication networks (DH+, DeviceNet, Ethernet)
Knowledge of HVAC/refrigeration systems, vision systems, and coding/printing systems (a plus)
Experience with Allen Bradley PowerFlex VFDs, SEW drives, and servo systems
Familiarity with HMI systems (Wonderware, PanelView, or equivalent)
Instrumentation experience, including calibration of flow, pressure, level, and temperature devices
Ability to read and utilize P&IDs for troubleshooting
Experience working in a team-based, multi-skilled environment
Physical Requirements
Stand on hard surfaces such as concrete for extended periods, up to 12 hours per shift
Lift and carry materials weighing up to 60 pounds
Climb stairs, ladders, platforms, and other structures on equipment or buildings to inspect, operate, maintain, or troubleshoot
Bend at the knees, twist the back, and kneel as needed to access equipment for operation, maintenance, or troubleshooting
Work indoors and outdoors in varying seasonal temperatures and humidity levels
Function effectively in areas of high noise while using proper personal protective equipment (PPE)
Work Schedule
Must be available to work any shift, including nights, weekends, and holidays, based on rotating team schedules.
