
Saw Operator - 2nd Shift

Essential Job Functions
Operate CNC cutoff saw, pencil grinders, disk grinders, cutoff wheels, hand drills, and tumblers as needed
Use basic measuring equipment such as calipers, steel rules, straightedge, and combination square to verify position of metal components
Apply a basic understanding of blueprints and tolerances that relate to assigned tasks
Cut sheet/rod to proper length and angle
Move raw material to the saw with the use of using overhead crane
Work in a manner in which quality of work and safety while performing work are top priorities
Keep work area organized and as clean as possible while working and clean up all tooling, machinery and work area when finished with each job
Notify direct supervisor of any equipment or tooling that is damaged or not working properly
Maintain accurate inventory and notify supervisor when raw material is low
Other functions as assigned by supervisor or manufacturing management
Physical Demands & Working Conditions
Continuous carrying of parts under 10 pounds
Continuous standing on a concrete floor
Continuous use of near vision while operating and checking parts
Continuous fine finger movements on computer, crane remote and writing
Continuous pushing of carts and rollers
Frequent lifting and carrying of parts under 20 pounds
Frequent handling and gripping of parts and tools
Frequent reaching above and below shoulder
Frequent walking
Occasional pulling of carts and rollers
Occasional reading and writing
Occasional lifting up to 50 pounds
Work environment is inside only, can be hot and humid in the summer with continuous manufacturing noise and dust
PPE required for position includes safety glasses, safety shoes, hearing protection, and gloves
Qualifications
Education and Experience
One (1) year of manufacturing or machine operating experience
Blueprint reading experience preferred
Skills and Abilities
Ability to read blueprints and other manufacturing documentation
Good communication skills
Strong attention to detail skills
