Job Summary
We are seeking a Facility Attendant to join our Insourcing Solutions team in Gaithersburg, MD. In this role, you will perform general housekeeping duties to maintain a clean, SOP‑compliant facility and provide as‑needed support for vivarium operations.
Key Responsibilities
Remove trash and perform general cleaning and sanitization, including sweeping and mopping floors, corridors, stairwells, restrooms, necropsy areas, facility surgery clinics, and procedure rooms.
Perform cleaning duties in other facilities as needed.
Clean and restock bathrooms.
Scrub and sanitize rooms according to established procedures.
Transport equipment and supplies between rooms and facilities.
Assist with repair and maintenance of cage wash equipment in accordance with applicable SOPs.
Help maintain appropriate inventory levels of housekeeping supplies.
Provide assistance to Technician IIs with husbandry duties as needed.
Receive and store animal feed, bedding, and supplies, and record and file required documentation.
Operate cage wash equipment and ensure it is in proper working order.
Adhere to all established safety procedures.
Maintain required attendance and adhere to assigned work schedules to ensure staffing needs are met.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Job Qualifications
The following are the minimum requirements related to the Facility Attendant position:
Education: High School Diploma or GED.
Experience: Minimum of one year of experience performing cage wash in a laboratory animal facility; experience with the safe handling of chemicals, detergents, and disinfectants; and previous experience performing receiving technician duties. Certification/Licensure: None.
The pay range for this position is $21-22 USD per hour. Please note that salaries vary within the range based on factors including experience, skills, education, certifications, and location.
