Job Summary
We are seeking an Animal Care Technician II to join our Insourcing Solutions team located in Bethesda, MD.

As an Animal Care Technician II, you will perform daily animal health observations to maintain the quality and health of research animals in complex and high‑traffic rooms, cubicles, vertical vivarium rooms, and/or a satellite facility.

Responsibilities include:

Perform daily water bottle and cage checks.

Perform cage changing and/or cage cleaning as required.

Provide food and water and record health concerns.

Maintain accurate records of animal breeding, housing, or support areas.

Receive, inspect, and house incoming animals.

Assist with restraint, handling, and manipulation of various animal species.

Participate in breeding and weaning procedures as assigned.

Monitor personnel and equipment entry into various rooms.

Operate required equipment and perform general housekeeping duties.

Job Qualifications

High school diploma or general education degree

Minimum one year’s experience performing basic animal care

ALAT eligibility required, ALAT certification preferred

The pay for this position is

$23.50 USD per hour.
