This is a 4 hour per day, 180 days per year, Paraeducator/Office Assistant II/Nutrition Service I position with benefits at Olivia Park Elementary School.

Hours: 8:35 a.m. – 1:05 p.m. (includes 30 minutes unpaid)

Application deadline: May 1, 2026. Starting date: Immediately.

Job Summary
Office Assistant: Perform clerical duties to assist students, staff, and the public.

Paraeducator: Assist teacher with planning, preparing, and delivering instruction for diverse learners, supervise students, perform crossing guard duties, assist special education services.

Nutrition Service I: Prepare and serve food for school lunch and breakfast programs, supervise kitchen staff, adhere to safety and sanitation.

Performance Responsibilities (Office Assistant)

Provide clerical support, answer phones, direct inquiries, schedule appointments.

Process documents, mail correspondence, maintain records.

Assist with student health needs and first‑aid provision.

Assist in student supervision and monitoring.

Word‑process, type, copy, collate, and file documents.

Prioritize and organize tasks to meet deadlines.

Comply with district policies.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Performance Responsibilities (Paraeducator)

Assist teacher with student supervision and safety.

Administer tests, collect data, update records, assess progress.

Manage student behavior, share observations.

Implement strategies for diverse needs.

Provide clerical assistance, data entry, and correspondence.

Provide first‑aid, physical support, and personal care.

Assist with feeding, toileting, lifting, and adaptive equipment use.

Track and dispense medications.

Crossing guard duties.

Assist in cafeteria and recess supervision.

Participate in meetings and training.

Comply with district policies.

Performance Responsibilities (Nutrition Service I)

Prepare food items, read recipes, follow USDA meal patterns.

Supervise student helpers and substitutes.

Perform all kitchen duties, including receiving, storing, preparing, serving, and cleaning.

Maintain cash records and follow cash handling procedures.

Operate kitchen equipment safely.

Lift up to 35 lbs using safe techniques.

Maintain sanitary conditions.

Perform other duties such as ordering, inventory, and supplies management.

Minimum Qualifications (Office Assistant)

Strong verbal and written communication.

Follow written and verbal instructions.

Exercise discretion and maintain confidentiality.

Build positive relationships with staff, students, and the public.

Organize and maintain efficiency.

Attention to detail.

Basic math and writing skills.

Operate office equipment (telephone, computer, copier).

Use basic software programs.

Multitask with interruptions.

Maintain regular attendance.

Minimum Qualifications (Paraeducator)

Knowledge of math, spelling, reading, and grammar.

Desire to work with students.

Professional interaction with students, supervisors, and staff.

Independent and team work.

Manage student behavior.

Accuracy and attention to detail.

Operate classroom equipment.

Provide physical, health, and safety support.

Proper lifting and adaptive equipment use.

Use computer applications for student learning.

Improve job‑related competencies.

Minimum Qualifications (Nutrition Service I)

Read and follow recipes, use kitchen equipment.

Knowledge of food safety and sanitation.

Follow school policies.

Participate in training.

Work relationships with staff, students, and parents.

Follow instructions.

Math calculations and change handling.

Maintain attendance and flexibility.

Lift up to 35 lbs safely.

Education

High school diploma or equivalent.

Associate degree or higher, or 72 quarter credits, or apprenticeship, or passing score on PESB assessment.

First Aid/CPR certification (required for first‑aid duties).

ServSafe certification desired.

Experience

One year of applicable office or clerical experience.

Experience in food industry desired.

Paraeducator experience desired.

Physical Requirements

Occasionally 1%–33%: standing, walking, lifting up to 35 lbs.

Frequently 34%–65%: standing, walking, lifting.

Continually 66%–100%: standing, walking, lifting.
