Position Overview
American Energy Resources is hiring Gas Meter Technicians in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Technicians in this role will install and replace gas meters while following company safety standards and performing hands-on field service work.
This role is well suited for individuals who enjoy outdoor work, mechanical tasks, and working as part of a technician team supporting gas utility infrastructure.
Compensation
Training pay begins at $20.00 per hour
Overtime paid at 1.5x after 40 hours per week
Weekly performance incentives available
Opportunities for advancement into higher technician levels after training and qualification
Technicians may advance through multiple technician levels based on experience, training completion, and field performance.
Training
Training is provided by the company and takes place locally in the Winston-Salem area before technicians begin full field work.
Responsibilities
Install and replace gas meters
Perform outdoor field work in varying weather conditions
Follow company and job site safety procedures
Work as part of a technician team
Maintain a professional and safety-compliant appearance appropriate for field work
Represent the company professionally when interacting with customers
Qualifications
Valid driver’s license required
Ability to perform the essential physical functions of the role with or without reasonable accommodation
Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions
Reliable attendance and strong work ethic
Employment is contingent upon successful completion of:

Preferred Experience
Experience in the following areas is helpful but not required:
Natural gas or utility work
Electric utility work
Plumbing
