University of Illinois at Chicago - Department of Emergency Medicine - Physician Assistant (LCM)
The Department of Emergency Medicine at the University of Illinois at Chicago is seeking a full time Physician Assistant. Physician Assistants will work at our OSF Little Company of Mary site where we are looking to complete an already excellent group of APPs and physicians working together. The hospital is located in Evergreen Park on the south side of Chicago, addressing the needs of an underserved population. The Emergency Department is newly renovated and also serves as a core site for the UIC Emergency Medicine Residency.
Job Responsibilities

Managing the care of patients within assigned area and/or area of expertise within the parameters of medical staff privileges
Working collaboratively with other providers in the care of patients, providing education to patients, families, and significant others
Integrating evidence‑based knowledge and clinical expertise in decision‑making
Acting as a resource for clinical staff in the practice setting, participating in the educational experience of learners
Leading multidisciplinary teams to provide integrated delivery of patient care services
Completing a minimum of 16 hours of continuing education in pediatric emergency topics every two years that are approved by an accrediting agency
Compensation and Benefits

Base salary range: $125,901 - $158,823, commensurate with qualifications and experience, and aligned with internal equity.
Eligible for University Benefits including Health, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, a Retirement Plan, Paid Time Off, and Tuition waivers for employees and dependents. Benefits also include CME.
Minimum Qualifications

Graduation from an accredited PA program with a Master’s (or Doctoral) Degree in Medical Science
Current license as a Physician Assistant in the State of Illinois
Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Current controlled substance licensure
Current National Certification by the NCCPA
Effective communication skills that facilitate therapeutic relationships among providers and leadership
Demonstrated experience in leadership, multidisciplinary collaboration, interpersonal communication, education, clinical experience and change management
Documentation in the medical record to substantiate accurate billing
Preferred: PA experience in Emergency Medicine or Urgent Care settings
Preferred: Documentation of at least 16 hours of continuing education in pediatric emergency topics every two years for those caring for children in the ED and fast track/urgent care
