Overview
The Stryten factory in Salina, Kansas is one of the largest lead-acid battery manufacturing sites in North America with 800 employees capable of producing more than 35,000 quality batteries per day. These batteries can be found in your car, in your boat or RV, or in your lawn and garden equipment. Stryten proudly supports the local community by regularly participating in Project Salina, the Salvation Army Angel Tree program, and providing more than 100 volunteers for the Smoky Hill River Festival.

Responsibilities
Self-starter with excellent problem solving, communication, teamwork, safety, Lockout/Tagout, and project management skills.
Capable to effectively troubleshoot plant and facility power from 480V three phase down to 5 volts DC.
Complete electrical installations as required to properly and safely complete assigned tasks, including running conduit and pulling wire.
Coordinate and implement maintenance training programs related to electrical and control systems.
Troubleshoot and repair electrical and controls systems, including PLCs, VFDs, motor starters, PID loop tuning, and digital/analog I/O.
Identify best practices to reduce equipment downtime, recurring issues, setup time, quick-change modules, and improve equipment efficiency.
Identify opportunities to reduce maintenance costs and pursue unsolicited automation and control projects that improve plant performance.
Use Work Order software and other computer programs as required; support new installations, improvements, and optimization projects across the plant.
Provide programming, debugging, and troubleshooting support for factory automation systems (PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, robots, PID tuning, motor control, electrical power distribution).
Develop and implement programming modifications to support plant performance standards and simplify operator intervention.
Provide hardware and software support to the plant automation network and assist in developing documentation for automation and control systems.
Maintain current program versions for plant automation equipment and document management systems.
Develop, initiate, and support plans to optimize, simplify, modernize, and improve plant automation and control systems.
Provide operational support for plant automation items such as robots, machine vision, and data collection; assist with plant shutdown activities and continuous improvement in Maintenance.
Proficient in data collection to SQL server platforms and display required information on specified platforms.
Conduit and wire pulling as required for power distribution and controls integration.
Follow TPS objectives and Lean Manufacturing procedures and participate in Kaizen events.

Education, Experience, Skills Required
Two-year degree from vocational school in industrial electronics and controls or 2 years of industrial electrical and controls experience, including experience with Allen-Bradley PLCs and ladder logic.
Must possess above-average troubleshooting skills to sustain plant production.

Equipment Used
Knowledge of electrical tools (e.g., oscilloscope, multimeters, amp-meters, megohmmeters, power meters, process meters).
Above-average computer skills for report writing, presentations, spreadsheets, and project management; familiarity with PLC and PanelView programming access, modification, and upload/download.
Familiar with common hand tools including power tools.
Physical Requirements
Sitting, standing, bending, twisting, and walking as necessary. Wearing PPE is required. Employee is required to repeatedly lift and handle equipment and parts weighing from grams to 100 pounds.
