Stryten Energy Production Operator – Salina, Kansas
The Stryten factory in Salina is one of the largest lead‑acid battery manufacturing sites in North America. We produce more than 35,000 quality batteries per day.

We are hiring production operators to work in assembly, pasting, oxide, and formation departments. Operators must work safely, produce high‑quality products efficiently, and learn other positions on the line.

Pay & Shift
The starting pay rate is $23.26 per hour.

Shift A: Day – Sun‑Tues, every other Wed

Shift B: Night – Sun‑Tues, every other Wed

Shift C: Day – Thurs‑Sat, every other Wed

Shift D: Night – Thurs‑Sat, every other Wed

Responsibilities

Repetitively lift and handle battery parts, envelope materials, elements, and batteries weighing from grams to 50 pounds.

Load plates into feed magazines and hand stack positive and negative plates.

Perform first piece set‑up, weld breaks, and weld analysis.

Process 1,000‑2,400 batteries per 10‑hour shift.

Work with a multi‑person team in an area containing powered machinery, torches, lead melting pots, conveyors, computers, and ventilation equipment.

Learn and follow quality control specifications, maintain accurate SPC charts, 002 forms, and other material control documents.

Be exposed to lead (dust, fumes, molten form), hot glue, and other hazards.

Understand and communicate in basic English.

Recognize and record scrap during shift when required.

Fill out JD Edwards reconciliation form at end of shift.

Maintain a clean and orderly work area per 5S requirements.

Comply with safety and health regulations and Lean Manufacturing Procedures.

Follow current Quality Systems requirements.

Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Use PPE as required.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED (preferred).

Previous manufacturing or related experience (preferred).

Mechanical aptitude (preferred).

Physical Requirements

Frequent lifting from grams to 50 pounds.

Frequent bending, lifting, pushing, stooping, and pulling.

Continuous standing and walking for 10‑hour shift.

Ability to wear PPE such as gloves, respirator, safety glasses, and metatarsal guard shoes.

Occasional exposure to extreme environmental conditions (hot, cold, humid).

Work from 10 inches to 60 inches above the floor and reach 24 inches side to side.

Equipment Used

Small hand tools, powered equipment, control panels, hoists, torches, platen carts, safety equipment.
