In this position
The Senior Production Supervisor position is a supervisory leadership role supported by on‑the‑job training, development, and opportunity for career progression. Senior Production Supervisors are resilient, detail‑oriented, ambitious, and demonstrate high integrity.
Responsibilities
Use and have a thorough understanding of Six Sigma, Lean and Problem‑Solving Methodologies and Ford Production System (FPS) approach to improve all areas of the business
Implement and lead Ford NA Six Sigma strategy within the manufacturing plant
Coach Plant OCM and Green Belts in strategic problem solving and Six Sigma methodologies
Coach, lead and assist problem‑solving teams at Ford facilities and suppliers
Teach Six Sigma Green Belt classes and help prepare students for certification
Coach and teach Ford Production System methods including standards and project selection
Coach and mentor Green Belts to use 6 Sigma tools properly and complete projects
Run 6 Sigma Kaizen projects to support resolution of significant issues
Lead 6 Sigma continuous improvement projects to resolve significant issues
Liaise with other business units on best practices and 6 Sigma knowledge
Support implementation of Ford Production System standards and continuous improvement tools
Drive implementation of continuous improvement methodology and sustainability strategies with plant leadership
Provide Ford Production System assistance and training to the plant as required
Microsoft Office knowledge (Word/Excel/Outlook)
Interface with plant hourly, salaried personnel and plant management team members
Demonstrate an ability to resolve diverse problems
Work well under pressure and be able to manage crisis situations when necessary
Work and multi‑task in fast‑paced environments
Teach Quality Operating System methods and principles
Additional Duties
Confirm standards are in place
Support issues raised by the teams
Plan changes to the system
Manage changes to the system
Communicate and recognize achievements
Develop highly competent and motivated people
Create a conducive work environment for the team(s) to complete assigned responsibilities and tasks
Ensure completion of administrative responsibilities
Supervise salaried employees
Qualifications
Education: High School Diploma
Six Sigma Certified
Experience: 2–3 years as a Process Coach

Education: Bachelor’s Degree
Safety and Quality experience preferred
Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing Principles
Knowledge of constraint management principles
Microsoft Office knowledge (Word/Excel/Outlook)
Prior experience managing a unionized workforce
Black Belt Certified
Ability to work any shift, rotating shifts, and weekends
Ability to work independently with limited supervision
Capable of assigning work to unionized hourly workforce and holding employees accountable for processes relating to safety, quality, and throughput
Strong organizational and administrative skills
Ability to multi‑task
Strong problem‑solving and conflict‑management skills
Demonstrate leadership in One FORD behaviors combined with outstanding interpersonal, team‑building, and communication skills
