
Diesel Mechanic Field Service Technician

Position Summary
The Diesel Field Service Technician will report to the Pompano Beach, FL location and service our diesel pumps at various Xylem and customer sites.
Responsibilities
Perform maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of diesel pumps and their electrical and mechanical components at customer sites and Xylem Service Centers.
Provide phone support when applicable.
Work independently with minimal supervision; self‑motivated and self‑directed.
Diagnose mechanical and electrical problems and implement corrective actions.
Adhere to safety practices and procedures.
Communicate effectively with customers, co‑workers, and managers in both verbal and written forms.
Shift Hours
General day shift hours with overtime opportunities and a compensated on‑call rotation with occasional afternoons and weekends.

Position Requirements
High school diploma or GED.
Valid driver’s license with a good driving record; Class B CDL preferred.
Ability to pass a background check, drug screen, MVR check, and DOT physical.
Experience working with diesel systems or a combination of education, training, and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position.
General diesel engine component location and identification.
Basic mechanical aptitude and ability to diagnose basic mechanical problems.
General DC electric and circuit testing skills.
Knowledge of and adherence to safety practices and procedures.
Preferred: Ability to diagnose complex mechanical and electrical issues.
Ability to work independently with little or no supervision; self‑motivated and self‑directed.
Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
