Job Overview
As a Controls Technician, you will perform installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of commercial equipment. Compensation depends on knowledge, skills, and experience.
Responsibilities
Perform assigned controls and troubleshooting tasks safely in commercial and industrial settings on various types of split systems, packaged rooftop units, rooftop units, heat pumps, DX systems, pneumatic, electrical control systems, and other mechanical equipment.
Diagnose causes of breakdowns, test parts with appropriate instruments, disassemble and assemble parts, and make necessary repairs to equipment and associated components as needed.
Assist with troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining medium to large sized complex heating and cooling systems and associated control systems.
Utilize electrical and mechanical diagnostic tools to maintain systems.
Complete required electronic documentation daily on a handheld device.
Work independently and as part of a team to complete assigned tasks within an allotted time frame.
Operate company vehicle to complete service calls in a specified territory.
Perform other related duties or special projects as assigned.
Education, Training, Licenses and/or Certifications
3 years of experience performing preventative maintenance and troubleshooting tasks on commercial mechanical equipment preferred.
EPA universal certification preferred.
OSHA 10‑hour certification preferred.
Additional Requirements
Maintain a positive, cooperative, and teachable attitude.
Requires basic mechanical aptitude, mathematical, and English language skills.
Comply with and promote company safety policy.
Self‑motivated, initiative, and self‑starter.
Regular and punctual attendance. Ability to work overtime if needed (and approved).
Ability to stand, squat, bend, stoop, and comfortably lift up to 50 lbs.
Ability to pass a full background screening and drug screening.
Ability to pass an MVR check (if applicable) or have reliable transportation.
Ability to pass a physical ability test.
Ability to travel as needed for projects.
