Position Summary
The Instrumentation and Electrical (IE) Supervisor leads the IE division within the PCR Maintenance group. This role is responsible for supporting and maintaining electrical, automation, and instrumentation infrastructure across Ergon's nationwide operations. The IE Supervisor oversees personnel, resources, safety, compliance, scheduling, and system performance while collaborating closely with other Maintenance and Fired Equipment Supervisors to support the full PCR network.

This position plays a key role in developing and managing operational systems, procedures, training, and continuous improvement initiatives related to IE services. It can be located at any of our maintenance shop locations: Vicksburg, MS; Inman, SC; or Ennis, TX, or work out of our corporate offices in Flowood, MS.

Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Supervision

Lead, coach, and supervise IE Technicians to ensure high-quality service and safe work practices.

Develop job profiles, training requirements, and performance expectations for IE team members.

Interview, hire, and support onboarding of new employees.

Promote a positive, collaborative, and high-performance team culture.

Operations & Maintenance Management

Establish and maintain inspection, preventive maintenance, and service programs for IE infrastructure across Ergon's network.

Build and manage weekly work schedules to support both planned and unplanned maintenance needs.

Coordinate personnel, materials, and resources to complete maintenance activities efficiently.

Be on call as needed to support equipment breakdowns and coordinate corporate maintenance resources.

Compliance, Safety & Risk Management

Interpret and ensure compliance with OSHA, state, and federal regulations related to IE activities.

Manage compliance programs and audits for electrical tools, arc‑flash PPE, and related equipment.

Drive safety initiatives and foster a culture that prioritizes safe work practices.

Asset, Inventory & Systems Management

Manage IE equipment records, inspections, and failure data to prevent repeat issues.

Develop and manage spare parts and equipment inventory critical to IE infrastructure.

Maintain equipment records in SAP, including creation, data updates, and location changes.

Oversee the full lifecycle of work orders in SAP, MaintainX, and the work‑order dashboard.

Support purchasing activities including parts receiving, purchase orders, and invoice processing.

Collaboration & Technical Support

Work with shop supervisors, corporate maintenance leadership, and operations to share resources across the national footprint.

Collaborate with the automation division to support commissioning, new installations, and ongoing IE infrastructure needs.

Communicate with business units to provide technical guidance and support.

Partner with operations to identify plant-specific preventive maintenance needs.

Continuous Improvement

Promote maintenance best practices and continuous improvement initiatives.

Identify inefficiencies and implement improvements such as 5S activities, process optimization, tool evaluation, and data tracking.

Implement and manage MaintainX to support daily operations, inventory, work orders, procedures, and compliance programs.

Additional Duties

Available for out‑of‑town and overnight assignments as required.

Perform other related maintenance or administrative duties as requested.

Required Qualifications
Experience & Education

Minimum of 8 years of experience troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining industrial electrical and instrumentation systems, OR

Bachelor's degree in business management, engineering, construction, or a related field with a minimum of 4 years of relevant industrial experience.

Skills & Competencies

Ability to give and receive constructive feedback.

Experience with SAP Plant Maintenance strongly preferred.

Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Windows‑based systems.

Physical & Travel Requirements

Ability to work in job‑site environments for extended periods.

Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks including bending, climbing, crouching, and reaching.

Ability to work in extreme weather conditions (heat, cold, wind, rain).

Willingness to travel and work overnight as needed.

Other Requirements

Valid driver's license.

Ability to pass pre‑employment drug screening, background check, and motor‑vehicle record (MVR) check.
