
Mechanical Engineer

ATI is hiring a Mechanical Engineer to support maintenance operations at our Brackenridge, PA location.
This role involves working with our Hot Rolling Processing Facility and Melt Shop, as well as related facility equipment and a machine shop. Responsibilities include drafting, creating and designing components, and mechanical design.
Essential Functions
Provide engineering expertise and support for maintaining equipment.
Engineer and coordinate mechanical projects and interface with outside vendors to design and implement cost‑effective and timely upgrades to equipment.
Develop standard operating procedures to improve maintenance quality and reduce or eliminate problems. Seek opportunities to solve problems to the root cause, eliminating future failures.
Initiate improvements to equipment. Use data to evaluate the highest frequency of failures and then develop strategies to mitigate the problem.
Troubleshoot and inspect problems, analyze and resolve issues accurately and efficiently.
Use predictive technology to drive equipment reliability. Seek opportunities to improve upon the maintenance and engineering program.
Utilize the RCM process to ensure the plant’s equipment reliability and performance function as required to assist the plant in producing the required level of quality and targeted Cost of Quality.
Provide and direct technical engineering expertise to other plant engineers, technicians, hourly craft personnel, etc.
Order and maintain parts for plant machinery and equipment.
Review and approve engineering and equipment information to include drawings, data, etc., either supplied by outside vendors or in‑house engineering.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, electro‑mechanical engineering, mechatronics, or related field.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Ability to work with and lead a diverse and represented hourly workforce.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Exceptional organization and planning skills.
Proficiency with computer systems and Microsoft Office.
Ability to quickly pick up on computerized maintenance management software (CMMS) and use it effectively in a planning process to improve downtime repairs.
Must have the ability to work shifts, including weekends, as required.
Candidates should have a strong work ethic and the ability to work in a highly motivated team environment.
