Mechanical Engineer Role
The Mechanical Engineer carries out engineering assignments concerned with the planning, designing, modeling, analyzing, testing and documenting of mechanical equipment, systems, and processes. Works under supervision, performing assignments of medium complexity individually, with peers, assisting senior engineers and working cooperatively with other departments. Creates and reviews drawings and technical documents as part of a multidisciplinary engineering team.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Under general supervision and with some latitude for unreviewed action, perform engineering assignments for the design and documentation of mechanical and electro‑mechanical components, sub‑systems and primary systems from concept to production.

Support the test, qualification, and production handoff of mechanical and electro‑mechanical components, sub‑systems and primary systems.

Assist with drawing release performing drawing handoffs, drawing check, drawing approval, engineering change notices, notices of revision, engineering change proposals, design reviews, test plans, reports, procedures and design for manufacturing.

Assist in the resolution of issues affecting legacy products and processes.

Assists in the preparation and presentation of materials for design reviews with peers, suppliers and/or customers.

Works with colleagues in the department and in other departments.

May give direction to junior level engineers, designers and draftspersons.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree (B.S.M.E.) from an accredited college or university.

2-5+ years of experience with design, modeling, analysis, documentation and/or fabrication of mechanical and/or electro‑mechanical components, sub‑systems and primary systems.

Solid modeling experience of parts, sub‑assemblies and assemblies using PDM.

In‑depth knowledge and understanding of specifications and standards including ASME Y14.5 Dimensioning and Tolerancing appropriate for the discipline.

Strong oral/written communication skills and must be capable of conducting effective oral presentations to fellow engineers, suppliers and customers.

Hands‑on test, hardware experience as well as general machine shop experience is a plus.

Travel may be required, including domestic and possibly foreign.

Must be a US Citizen.

Preferred Qualifications

Defense or Aerospace industry experience.

SolidWorks and/or Creo solid modeling experience using PDM.

Knowledge and understanding of military specifications and standards.

Competitive Compensation
Pay Range: $83,250 to $138,550 annually. Participation in Annual Incentive Program.
