Atlas Connections has partnered with a well-established construction and engineering firm to find an experienced
Mechanical Estimator
to join their Estimating and Engineering Department. This is a high-visibility role supporting major design and build projects across commercial, industrial, life sciences, medical, and mission-critical industries.
What You'll Do
Support proposal teams on major projects across multiple business units and programs
Develop accurate and competitive estimates, budgets, quantity surveys, and proposals
Collaborate with Project Management and Design teams during buyout and pre-construction processes
Attend design reconciliation conferences and Charrettes on projects $5M+
Cultivate and manage subcontractor and supplier relationships, including scope of work reviews
Assist in creating project schedules for bids and pre-construction planning
Participate in pre-bid conferences, site visits, bid day processes, and proposal submissions
Review and interpret plans, specifications, and schedules
Build and maintain relationships with facility managers and construction owners
What You'll Bring
Bachelor's degree in Construction or a related engineering field, OR Journeyman/Master certification in Plumbing or HVAC, OR 7+ years of mechanical estimating experience
Minimum 3 years of conceptual and design-build estimating experience with a mechanical contractor
Field experience in mechanical installation projects strongly preferred
Strong proficiency with digital takeoff and estimating software
Solid understanding of project scopes, direct and indirect costs, and pricing
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and scheduling software
Familiarity with LEED requirements and construction scheduling
Strong communication and collaboration skills
Valid driver's license and ability to pass a background check (required for access to security-regulated facilities)
