
Warehouse Sanitation - WSF

Job Overview
Primary responsibility is cleaning of the distribution center (75% of duties). Perform routine cleaning including vacuuming; sweeping and mopping floors; dusting, washing walls, doors, and windows, and emptying trash. Perform minor preventative maintenance and minor repairs. Assist service personnel as needed, report major repair and maintenance needs, and assist with snow removal.
Responsibilities
Core responsibilities include ensuring all necessary janitorial equipment is available, operating floor scrubbers, sweeping and vacuums dock plates, sweeping and mopping sanitation barriers, emptying trash bins from all locations, managing cardboard and plastic recycling and compacts, keeping all areas free of debris, removing empty pallets and cleaning slots, discarding leaking product and logging it, reporting any policy violations to supervisor or lead, performing duties in accordance with Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP) and Safety Quality Food (SQF) policies, and performing other duties as assigned.

Experience
Warehouse/Operations/Manufacturing experience preferred
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Understanding of safety guidelines
Ability to operate cleaning equipment such as floor scrubbers and mops
Understanding of procedures in other warehouse areas for a global understanding of all processes
Good judgment required when direct supervision may not be immediately available
Work Environment
Onsite Role
This position requires the associate to perform all duties at one of our UNFI locations, such as a distribution center or office.
Physical Environment & Demands
Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and to stand, walk, bend, stoop, twist, and turn frequently.
Exposure to temperatures ranging from -20 degrees below zero to 35 degrees Fahrenheit in Perishable Operation and 37 degrees to 90 degrees Fahrenheit in Grocery Operation.
Ability to perform repetitive arm, wrist, and hand movements required for maintenance and service procedures.
Must be able to work with hands and arms overhead, and to work in or under equipment.
Requires manual dexterity, overall coordination, and good balance to work both at ground level and in high places.
Ability to operate work-related equipment.
Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Ability to work in an environment containing tree nuts, peanuts, soy, wheat, sesame, milk, and various spices such as pepper and chili.
