Warehouse Person
PepsiCo, Petoskey, MI, United States
PBNA $25.20 / hour
This labor-intensive position involves hand building pallets of product for bulk and route trucks. Each type of loading requires strict attention to order accuracy, loading outgoing trucks, and unloading incoming trucks. The role uses an electronic order system or order sheets to build loads using a forklift and/or electronic pallet jack. Accurate loading and compliance with shipper/receiver documentation are essential. Employees must maintain a clean and safe work environment and may work across a wide variety of weather conditions. Shift durations vary daily based on workload.
Transport truck loading involves moving full pallets of products from the warehouse onto a trailer and removing returned pallets or plastic flats. The loader also unloads raw materials into designated warehouse space.
Bulk truck loading requires selecting designated packages and flavors of products from the warehouse, loading them onto a pallet, ensuring the pallet’s stability through proper stacking and shrink-wrapping, and loading the pallet onto a trailer for local delivery. Unloading returned products and pallets or plastic flats is also required.
Route truck loading involves selecting designated packages or pallets of products from the warehouse and loading them into the truck, customized based on the salesperson’s order. The loader also unloads returned products and pallets or plastic flats.
The position requires lifting a high volume of cases of product daily (20–45 lbs per case) repeatedly during long work periods. The role involves constant standing, walking, bending, twisting, squatting, reaching, and grasping to move product.
