The Temporary Election Services Office Assistant for the Candidate Services division will support County candidate filings, as well as a broad range of customer-focused administrative duties, lobby management, and counting signatures. This role is crucial for helping candidates and stakeholders navigate the filing process.

We Require
Six (6) months of clerical and/or customer service experience in a public-facing office or lobby setting
High school diploma or GED
An equivalent combination of post‑secondary education and/or job‑related experience may substitute for the required experience on a year-for-year basis
Other Requirements
Must be a registered voter, or have the ability to become a registered voter, in the State of Arizona by the time of hire
Must pass an applicable background screening
Must be able to work overtime as necessary
We Also Value
One or more years of clerical and/or customer service experience in a public-facing office or lobby setting
One or more years of administrative support experience
Job Contributions
Provides customer service to candidates and candidate representatives
Explains procedures and policies, and assists guests with filing the proper paperwork in a timely manner
Accepts, verifies completion of candidate nomination forms, and counts signatures
Performs data entry of candidate names and signature totals
Files paperwork and updates lists for each file to maintain organized records
Maintains visitor logs, greets visitors, and manages visitor flow and wait time
Scans and files digital records
Provides general information to the public and answers phone calls
Assists with other daily functions and activities of the Candidate Services Division, and other job duties as assigned
Working Conditions
Requires full-time/temporary/holiday/overtime work during the election cycle and the ability to work evenings and weekends
Requires the ability to sit or stand for extended periods and upper extremity repetitive motion
Requires the ability to lift 20 pounds floor-to-shoulder, lift 20 pounds floor-to-waist, carry a minimum of 20 pounds a distance of 100 feet, and push/pull a minimum of 30 pounds a distance of 200 feet
Must not engage in any political discussion
Requires the use of Microsoft Office Tools (Office, Excel, Teams, Outlook, Bookings), Adobe Acrobat, election management software, the voter registration database, imprinting scanners, document printers, and a desk phone
