**Job Title: Technical Specialist**
**Job Description**
The Technical Specialist maintains, troubleshoots, and improves plant equipment and automation systems, ensuring reliable operation of PLCs, HMIs, servo systems, motor controls, and hydraulic/pneumatic components. This role combines hands-on electrical and mechanical work with PLC programming and preventive maintenance to support safe, efficient, and continuous production.
**Responsibilities**
+ Maintain and support the upkeep of all plant equipment to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operation.
+ Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair equipment issues using strong hands-on technical skills in electrical, mechanical, and automation systems.
+ Work with Allen-Bradley PLCs and RSLogix software to troubleshoot, edit, and optimize control programs.
+ Configure, troubleshoot, and maintain HMI software (Allen-Bradley) to support effective operator interfaces and system monitoring.
+ Install, configure, and maintain servo systems to ensure precise motion control and equipment performance.
+ Work with motor controls, including 3-phase 480V systems and low-voltage 24V DC circuits, to support equipment operation and upgrades.
+ Support, troubleshoot, and maintain hydraulic and pneumatic systems throughout the plant, including cylinders, valves, actuators, and related components.
+ Develop, execute, and improve preventive maintenance (PM) plans to minimize unplanned downtime and extend equipment life.
+ Assist with the installation and commissioning of new equipment, including electrical, mechanical, and control system integration.
+ Perform PLC troubleshooting on industrial automation systems to identify root causes and implement effective corrective actions.
+ Collaborate with maintenance and production teams to prioritize work, resolve issues quickly, and support continuous improvement.
+ Document work performed, including maintenance activities, program changes, and equipment modifications, in an organized and accurate manner.
+ Follow all plant safety procedures and best practices while working on electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
**Essential Skills**
+ 3-5 years of experience in technical maintenance or industrial maintenance in a plant or manufacturing environment.
+ Proficiency in troubleshooting and maintaining Allen-Bradley PLCs using RSLogix software.
+ Ability to troubleshoot and edit PLC programs for industrial automation systems.
+ Hands-on experience with HMI software (preferably Allen-Bradley) for configuration and troubleshooting.
+ Strong knowledge of motor controls, including 3-phase 480V systems and 24V DC low-voltage circuits.
+ Practical experience working with hydraulic systems, including troubleshooting and repair.
+ Practical experience working with pneumatic systems, including troubleshooting and repair.
+ Demonstrated ability to perform preventive maintenance and implement PM plans.
+ Hands-on experience with installation, startup, and integration of new equipment.
+ Solid mechanical aptitude with the ability to work on mechanical components and assemblies.
+ Strong troubleshooting skills across electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and automation systems.
+ Experience as a maintenance technician or in a similar technical maintenance role in an industrial environment.
**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
+ in industrial automation or industrial maintenance.
+ Experience with servo systems and motion control in automated equipment.
+ Familiarity with general programming concepts in the context of PLCs and automation.
+ Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and equipment manuals.

+ Ability to work both independently and as part of a cross-functional maintenance team.

The position involves working in and around operating machinery, so adherence to safety procedures and use of appropriate personal protective equipment is essential. Work hours typically follow plant operational needs and may include occasional overtime or off-shift support to address urgent maintenance issues and minimize downtime.
