
Bilingual HR Clerk

Position Overview
The HR Plant Clerk supports day to day Human Resources and timekeeping functions for the assigned greenhouse plant. This role serves as an on site Human Resources liaison, ensuring accurate time and attendance tracking, assisting employees with Human Resources questions, supporting plant leadership, and maintaining confidential records. The position requires strong attention to detail, professionalism, and the ability to interact effectively with employees and supervisors.
Job Duties
Time and Attendance
Maintain and post a daily work list informing employees of their daily assignment.
Monitor daily punches for exceptions and follow up with supervisors to resolve missed punches or discrepancies before payroll submission.
Track and reconcile daily time and attendance for all plant employees.
Process bi weekly timekeeping submissions for payroll.
Perform timekeeping maintenance for absences, tardies, and early departures.
Track paid time off requests, process requests, and communicate statuses to employees.
Track and reconcile leaves of absence (FMLA, personal leave, medical restrictions) in partnership with HR leadership.
Maintain and update employee schedules, shift changes, and temporary job reassignments.
Support compliance with state and federal wage and hour requirements.
Human Resources
Serve as the onsite liaison for all Human Resources related questions, such as policies, benefits, medical leave, medical restrictions, safety concerns, employee relations, etc.
Support Human Resources leadership in maintaining a positive workplace culture by communicating Human Resources initiatives and providing feedback loops.
Support new hire onboarding by assisting with new hire orientation and safety training, plant tours and introductions, and ensuring new hires are assimilated to the plant location.
Assist with benefit communication, enrollment, and answering questions.
Support safety reporting processes, including incident reports, near-misses, first-aid documentation, and ongoing employee communication.
Assist with coordinating training for safety, forklift, skills, soft skills, Worker Protection Standard, and other training as assigned.
Assist with coordination of employee events and communications.
Create, communicate, and maintain confidential documentation of employee corrective action regarding performance, policy violations, safety violations, and values misalignment.
Document conversations and expedite employee concerns or potential Human Resources issues to HR leadership promptly.
Assist with Human Resources investigations.
Plant Office
Assist plant management with employee-related reports and administrative tasks.
Assist in creating shipping labels and plant specific documentation, as necessary.
All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Associate’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field or relevant experience required.
1-3+ years of administrative experience required; experience in Human Resources preferred.
Bi‑lingual in Spanish and English required due to workforce communication needs.
Experience in agriculture, manufacturing preferred.
Strong experience with Microsoft Office Suite required.
Experience with a Human Resources Information System (HRIS) preferred.
Must have strong verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively.
Strong customer service skills, with the ability to work in a multi-functional, diverse team environment.
Must be detail‑oriented.
Must be able to exercise discretion while working with confidential matters.
Physical Environment & Requirements
Climate controlled office or home office environment.
Continuously requires vision, hearing, twisting, and talking.
Frequently requires sitting, standing, fine dexterity, and handling.
Occasionally requires walking, climbing stairs, lifting (up to 20lbs), carrying, reaching, kneeling, pushing/pulling, bending, and crouching.
Rarely requires climbing.
