Job Overview
This role supports the planning, execution, and analysis of engineering tests for mechanical, thermal, and hydraulic systems in an aerospace/defense environment. The engineer works in both office and manufacturing settings, contributing to continuous improvement, control systems, and overall project performance in a fast‑paced, collaborative environment.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Assist with test planning, execution, and troubleshooting, including test design, development of test methods, fixtures, instrumentation, data acquisition systems, and preparation of test procedures, plans, and reports.
Support project delivery to meet client goals on schedule and within budget, ensuring high technical accuracy, completeness, and presentation standards.
Provide engineering project support for mechanical, thermal, and hydraulic systems.
Contribute to continuous improvement of existing equipment through implementation of control systems and support business development and project performance to meet customer needs.
Demonstrate a strong interest in the aerospace industry and thrive in a fast‑paced, hands‑on engineering environment.
Required Education & Experience
B.S. or M.S. Degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering, or equivalent experience and registration.
Typically 0‑3 years of aerospace and/or defense experience.
Solid understanding of engineering fundamentals.
Basic understanding of data acquisition systems and instrumentation.
Knowledge of hydraulic and thermal systems is a plus.
Experience with programming PLC control systems (ladder logic, etc.).
Basic understanding of SolidWorks and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing.
Knowledge of military and commercial specifications preferred.
Must be a U.S. Citizen and hold or be able to obtain a DoD SECRET clearance.
Compliance with ITAR requirements: U.S. citizenship, lawful permanent residency, refugee, or asylee status, or eligibility for required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
Preferred Skills
Analytical, problem‑solving, and critical‑thinking skills with keen attention to detail.
Ability to define problems verbally and in writing.
Ability to utilize common hand and power tools.
