
Mobile Health Administrative Coordinator

Job Summary
Under the supervision of the department, the Mobile Health Unit Driver provides medical administrative support for mobile and fixed clinic sites. The role drives the mobile unit and ensures operational readiness, conducts patient registration, scheduling, insurance verification, referrals, and revenue‑cycle support. The driver supports clinical operations and sponsored programs to ensure safe and efficient care delivery and performs additional duties as assigned.
Essential – Clinic Operations & Mobile Health Unit Support (35%)
Provides operational support for mobile and fixed‑site clinics to ensure efficient delivery of care. Serves as the designated mobile health unit driver, responsible for setup and takedown, equipment readiness, supply inventory and ordering, ensuring clinics are prepared for services offered. Performs light fleet support activities, such as transporting the unit for routine maintenance (e.g., oil changes and tire rotations), and reports vehicle, equipment, or operational issues promptly. Supports patient flow and visit logistics, including insurance screening, patient navigation, pre‑visit outreach, post‑visit follow‑up, documentation support, and use of the electronic health record and patient portal. Works closely with clinicians and staff for smooth, patient‑centered clinic operations.

Provides high‑quality customer service to patients and community partners, demonstrating exceptional communication, professionalism, and cultural sensitivity. Performs patient registration, screening, check‑in/check‑out, appointment scheduling, and general information support while building positive relationships. Maintains accurate, confidential health records in compliance with HIPAA. Provides community outreach support as needed and serves as a Spanish‑language translator when applicable and qualified.
Essential – Administration & Scheduling (20%)
Provides comprehensive administrative and clerical support to mobile health units and fixed clinic locations. Creates, maintains, and adjusts provider and clinic schedule templates; manages appointments; performs data entry; and ensures ongoing accuracy of patient management systems and the electronic health record. Prepares reports, correspondence, logs, manuals, forms, and meeting minutes; orders office supplies; gathers program data; and supports program leadership with administrative needs, including development of fliers, web content, and social media posts. Manages incoming and outgoing mail and other administrative duties as assigned.
Essential – Fiscal & Revenue‑Cycle Support (20%)
Ensures accurate patient registration, including payor, guarantor, and demographic information in the electronic health record. Verifies insurance coverage and payor sources at scheduling and check‑in; collects required identification and payments at time of service; and establishes payment arrangements per organizational policies. Processes receipt transmittals, balances daily revenues, completes deposits and bank transports, and documents financial transactions accurately. Assists with charge entry, charge corrections, denial management, and third‑party billing processes in compliance with Clemson University guidelines.
Sponsored Programs & Clinical Trials Support (5%)
Supports sponsored programs and clinical trials by applying program guidelines, protocols, eligibility criteria, and reporting requirements. Communicates with community partners, sponsors, and referring agencies to coordinate patient services. Assists clinic staff and principal investigators with approved research protocols and clinical research activities as applicable. Maintains required training related to human subjects protection, research compliance, and program‑specific requirements.
Minimum Requirements
Education: Bachelor’s degree (high‑school diploma and related work experience acceptable).
Experience: 2+ years in a related role.
Valid South Carolina driver’s license with no active or pending suspension.
Preferred Requirements
Associate or Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university; preferred majors include health science, public health, business, communication, social science, or related field. Experience living or working in rural communities, experience with electronic health records, experience driving a truck or recreational vehicle, and patient/customer‑service experience. Spanish language proficiency. Health‑related license or certification preferred; community health worker certification encouraged.
Physical Requirements
Stand for prolonged periods (20%); walk or move about (30%); use hands or feet to operate or handle machinery, equipment, etc. (40%); ascend or descend stairs or ladder (30%).
Work Conditions
Exposure to heat (25%) or cold (25%); noise (25%); vibration (15%); overnight travel (10%). Operates primarily from a mobile health unit year‑round; may experience moderate heat in summer and cold in winter; limited overnight travel.
Work Schedule
Standard hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday‑Friday, 8:00 a.m.–4:30 p.m.
Compensation Range
Estimated salary: $37,200.00–$47,000.00. Actual salary depends on experience, skills, and performance per Clemson’s compensation guidelines.

Normal operations. Employee not expected to work on‑site during emergency closures.
