
DevOps Engineer IV

The DevOps Engineer IV is a senior technical leader responsible for designing, building, and operating scalable CI/CD platforms and cloud infrastructure that enable fast, secure, and reliable software delivery. This role partners closely with Engineering, Infrastructure, and Security to evolve the AWS platform, strengthen automation and governance, and embed observability and operational excellence across services.
As a senior escalation point, the DevOps Engineer IV resolves complex delivery and reliability challenges while driving DevOps best practices, standards, and continuous improvement across teams.
_Essential Job Responsibilities Include:_
+ Architect, build, and enhance CI/CD platforms on AWS to support reliable, repeatable deployments across all environments.
+ Own and continuously improve delivery automation, including build, test, release, deployment strategies, rollbacks, approvals, and change controls.
+ Enable engineering teams to adopt CI/CD and AWS services effectively through guidance, reusable templates, self-service patterns, and shared tooling.
+ Design and implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and automation for provisioning, configuration, and operational workflows (Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible).
+ Advance monitoring, observability, and incident readiness across applications and infrastructure, including metrics, logs, tracing, alerting, dashboards, and SLOs.
+ Partner with Security to embed secure-by-default practices such as least privilege, secrets management, artifact integrity, vulnerability scanning, and policy-as-code.
+ Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues across build pipelines, deployments, networking, and runtime environments; identify root causes and prevent recurrence.
+ Evaluate, introduce, and standardize tools and technologies that improve platform reliability, delivery velocity, and developer experience.
+ Lead by influence by mentoring engineers, contributing to standards, and providing technical leadership in support of the DevOps Manager's initiatives.
+ Document and standardize systems, runbooks, and operational processes to improve onboarding, supportability, and operational clarity.
_Required Skills / Experience:_
+ 5+ years of experience in DevOps, SRE, or cloud infrastructure engineering.
+ Deep hands-on experience with AWS architecture and services, including networking, IAM, compute, storage, and monitoring.
+ Strong Linux administration and production troubleshooting experience.
+ Proven experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using tools such as GitHub Actions, ArgoCD, Octopus Deploy, or equivalent platforms.
+ Strong expertise in Infrastructure as Code and automation (Terraform and/or CloudFormation; Ansible or similar tools a plus).
+ Proficiency in at least one scripting language (Python, Bash, Ruby, or Perl).
+ Solid understanding of microservices architectures and modern deployment patterns.
+ Experience with containers and orchestration technologies, including Docker and Kubernetes (EKS preferred).
+ Excellent troubleshooting and systems-level thinking with the ability to identify issues early and drive resolution to root cause.
+ Experience working in Agile delivery environments and using tools such as Jira.
+ Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
+ Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities independently in a fast-paced environment.
_Preferred Skills/Experience:_
+ Experience with observability platforms such as CloudWatch, Prometheus/Grafana, Datadog, Splunk, ELK, or OpenTelemetry.
+ Experience implementing security controls in CI/CD pipelines, including SAST/DAST, dependency scanning, container scanning, SBOMs, and artifact signing.
+ Experience defining SLIs/SLOs, improving incident response practices, and driving reliability or resilience programs.
+ Prior experience mentoring engineers and leading cross-team technical initiatives.
_Based on relevant market data and other factors, the anticipated hiring range for this role is $120_ _,000 to $150_ _,000 annually. Final compensation rates will be determined based on various factors, including but not limited to experience, skills, knowledge, and internal equity considerations. This role is also short-term incentive eligible. Incentive amounts will vary by individual and business goals._
