Position Summary
The Class C Driver / Backup Forklift Operator is responsible for safely delivering products to customers and supporting warehouse operations as needed. This role requires strong attention to safety, efficiency, and customer service, along with the ability to switch between driving and warehouse duties.
Key Responsibilities
Class C Driver Duties
Safely operate company vehicles (Box truck with liftgate) to deliver goods to customer locations
Load and unload products using an electric pallet jack
Operate liftgate equipment during deliveries
Ensure accurate and timely delivery of orders
Verify delivery documents and obtain customer signatures
Perform daily vehicle inspections and report any issues
Maintain a clean driving record and follow all traffic laws and company policies
Backup Forklift Operator Duties
Assist with unloading inbound shipments
Put away inventory into designated bin locations
Pick and stage orders for outbound shipments
Operate forklifts and other warehouse equipment safely
Support general warehouse organization and cleanliness
Assist with inventory counts and stock control as needed
Qualifications
Valid Class C driver’s license with a clean driving record
Experience operating an electric pallet jack and liftgate preferred
Forklift certification or prior forklift experience preferred
Ability to lift, push, and pull heavy items (up to 50 lbs or more)
Basic understanding of warehouse operations
Strong attention to detail and time management skills
Good communication and customer service skills
Work Environment
Combination of driving routes and warehouse work. Exposure to varying weather conditions during deliveries. Physically active role requiring lifting, bending, and standing.
Additional Notes
This position may require flexible scheduling based on delivery needs. Employee will be expected to transition between driving and warehouse duties as required.
