+ Record maintenance data and perform decontamination tasks in accordance with laboratory procedures.
+ Update and maintain accurate patient information and specimen documentation in the appropriate systems.
+ Answer telephone calls and relay or read laboratory results as needed to satisfy inquiries in a professional manner.
+ Understand and fully interpret physicians' orders related to laboratory testing and specimen requirements.
+ Comply with OSHA and DEP regulations and attend required annual departmental trainings.
+ Assist with front desk processing, including basic administrative and intake tasks related to specimen handling.
+ Support stocking and supply management to ensure phlebotomy and processing areas remain fully equipped.
+ Participate in troubleshooting collection or processing issues and make recommendations to improve workflow efficiency.
+ Complete initial training on systems and then transition to hands-on work following established training timelines.
Essential Skills

+ Demonstrated experience performing 30+ blood draws per day across all age groups, including pediatric and geriatric patients.
+ Proficiency in venipuncture using both straight needles and butterfly needles.

+ Knowledge of and adherence to OSHA and DEP safety and regulatory standards.
+ Strong customer service skills and the ability to communicate clearly and courteously with patients and clinical staff.

+ Willingness and ability to work off-shift hours, specifically 2nd shift.
+ Comfort with high levels of walking and standing throughout the shift.
Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Experience working in an inpatient or IOP (Interventional or outpatient) environment is highly beneficial.

The environment is fast-paced and clinically focused, with routine use of laboratory equipment such as centrifuges and specimen storage units, and adherence to strict safety, infection control, and regulatory standards.
